Well, thanks friends, I finally know my Acajoom module works.
Gladys subscribed.
Like my last Ezine, (hey, there's another word for that Internet lingo list) she was the first one who subscribed.
Actually a couple of other people apparently tried but they failed to confirm their email message when it arrived. If it did. But, anyway, dear Gladys got it all done and she's reader number one. I love Gladys.
I'm not so sure about that last ezine. I moved it from site to site and changed it's name at least a few times. I think people quit trying to figure out what it was about after about the third time they read it. Life got in the way and I quit writing it. Whew!
Hopefully, our new ezine, "Cuttin' Jackpots" will be more like our first 'zine, "Geeks, Freaks and Bamboozles". That's where we first met Gladys.
We had a "Get Acquainted With Our Readers" column. I've reprinted Glady's interview here in honor of her subscribing today. It's a couple years out of date. Gladys is a little older now and her husband is gone but I sure feel lucky to have her company on my website.
Let's Get Acquainted with Gladys Ross!
Gladys, tell us a little about your background. Where
are you from and where are you now?
I am a 86 year old person. Orginally Ohio
now Indiana.
Would you like to tell us about your family?
Mother died when I was six so of course
my Father had full charge as well as working.
He raised race horses and raced some of
them.
What did you want to do "then" and did you do
it?
I wanted to work in and office and in
later years I did although not as talented as the young folks are
today.
What about now? Do you have a "day job"? What, if
anything, do you do on the Internet?
Now I am a home body, with an aging
husband, and stay home. I do all our shopping, cooking and
cleaning ( a little bit of cleaning).
I am on the internet to research topics that interest me.
As a child I went with my Father to the tracks and as any child I
found the mid-way facinating.
Of course I saw the usual sights, sword swallower, flame eater,
the fat ladies, the dwarfs. It was always with great
interest.
Do any of you remember Bonnie Lou that sang on WLW? I saw her
when she was a child debuting at county fairs.
I also remember when they used real fire to fan gas into hotair
balloons.
That is why your site holds such interest for me. Making me
remember.
I wish you every success.
Gladys
